Hi Lovelies

Do you remember when you were a kid, cutting images from magazines and creating a collage? I still do this every year. Pictures to inspire me for the New Year. Pictures to keep me motivated. Up until last year they used to be covered in beauty and fashion items but this year it will definitely be more simple.

After all these years of worrying about the trivial things like makeup and clothes, 2017 will be focusing on my family and my little angel boy. Spending time with him. Creating memories and teaching him the value of making memories and not buying happiness.

Here is to 2017, full of fun times with family, friends and loved ones. Creating more memories, helping each other and a year full of love, joy and happiness.

Hi Lovelies

Remember when we were younger we thought we could do everything? That there was nothing that we couldn't do? Fast forward 20 years and you know for a fact that there are things we are terrible at. Some seem trivial while others we try every day to master. But no matter how hard you try, it ain't never going to happen. Below are some of the things that I am terrible at.

Wearing heels

I love most girly things, like any girl. But the one thing I have never mastered and will never is heels. I don't own any heels. I am a flats and sneakers kind of gal. It's not that I have never tried, believe me I have. I just can't deal with the pain of walking in them the whole day. I want to be comfortable and don't do well with sore feet.

Winged Eyeliner

The unimaginable. A makeup artist who can't do winged liner... well not on myself but on clients it is sharp as a knife. I find it so hard to do it on myself. I have found a way to kinda do it but if you ask me to do it free hand, I'm screwed.

Icing a cake

I pride myself in baking a tasty chocolate cake and love baking. But I truly suck at icing anything. I have all the fancy piping equipment and I have watched countless icing videos on YouTube but alas I can't ice. If anyone knows of a great way to help me master icing, please let me know below.

Controlling my sailor mouth

When I meet someone for the first time, I seem very polite. No foul words to be found, but once I am comfortable around you, I become a sailor. No word is left out from my vocab. My family and friends have learnt that it isn't going to change but I will admit that at certain friends houses I try my best to control it.

Making small talk

I hate small talk. I hate the awkward first talks when you are meeting someone for the first time. I know that is how you get to know someone but I am more of an in depth, soul searching conversationalist. I wanna talk about the deep stuff, finding out what makes you tick and talking till 3 am.

Talking on the phone

Ever get nervous when you have to call someone you have never spoken to before? Even though my job entails that I have to answer and make calls, I still get nervous doing it. When someone calls on my cellphone that I don't know, I won't answer the phone. I stutter even though I don't have a stutter and my palms get sweaty.

Keeping plants alive

I have no green thumbs or fingers or whatever it is that you call it. I can't even keep a cactus alive having killed numerous little ones. Now that has to tell you something. Although my grandparents and my mother all do well in that department. I definitely didn't get that gene.

Staying off Pinterest

I am seriously terrible at this. I swear most of my data is spent on Pinterest and because of it I have like 5000 photos on my phone (thank goodness for the 128GB iPhone). I love looking at beautiful pictures and when I am bored I scroll through the pictures. It is kind of like therapy for me.

Hi Lovelies

I enjoy reading interviews on blogs. Whether it is interviews with famous people or interviews with family and friends. So I thought I would start off with my best friend, Christine. This girl is my rock, my anchor and she definitely keeps me sane. We will both be answering the questions. I hope you enjoy this.

Where/how did you meet?

C: One of the reasons I love social media. We met through Twitter, she is the first Directioner that I met that was on my level of love for the boys.

S: Twitter was were we become best friends and sisters. I had actually heard Christine get asked to her matric farewell on 947, and went to follow her on Twitter. I honestly didn't think we would become such good friends, but boy was I wrong.

How long have you been friends?

C: We have been friends for 2 years and about 7 months.

Your favorite memory together?

C: It would be between our One Direction concert, and when she was my makeup artist/ moral support/ best friend for my matric farewell.

S: We have so many memories, and every time she is there for me when things get tough is special, but my favorite memory would have to be our One Direction concert. They basically brought us together and going to the concert, standing right in front and singing along to our favorite song, is a memory I will cherish forever.

Describe your best friend in one word.

C: Spectacular-fun-beautiful (I added "-" so technically it is one word :) )

S: Christine in one word would have to be "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious". She is just perfect.

Best friends favorite color?

C: Purple

S: Blue

Nicknames for each other?

C: My Buzz, My sister, Queen

S: My Woody. To infinity and beyond! My person!

Describe the kind of guy your best friend likes.

C: Those blue eyes get her, dimples and dark hair at times. But a certain Irish blonde will always have her weak in the knees. He has to love her completely, respect her (or he'll have to answer to me), sense of humor, appreciate her little things, buy her tons of books and read with her for hours but most important of all, love your little Robs like his own.

S: Definitely dark hair, eyes and definitely from overseas. She just can't stay away from the foreign guys. She wants someone to love her with all his heart. Someone who understand that she is in it for the long haul. He has to respect that university comes first and focusing on that is priority. He must be able to understand her jokes, and crazy moments. He must have a love for God, and that must be his no.1 priority. A guy who reads and loves music.

Does your friend want to get married one day?

C: Of course she does.

S: Yes but it will be with the right person and forever.

Books or Movies?

C: Definitely books.

S: Books!

Thank you my Woody, for taking part in this interview. You are my guiding light through everything. I love you to infinity and beyond.

I hope you enjoyed this interview, the first of many coming on the blog. The next interview will feature a bubbly 6 year old. You can count on laughs for that one.

Hi Lovelies

What a year it has been. A few ups and many downs. Losing two loved ones, retrenchment and a host of other different things. I don't think I have ever wanted a year to end more than this one. But here we are, going through the motions, and learning to cope and come out stronger.

With all the downs, there has to be something that makes me happy now, right? There is a handful of things that keep me happy and help to forget about everything.

My angel son

I have to admit that this year has been hard. There were many times where I honestly wanted to give up. I know that it isn't right to think like that, but sometimes it all just gets too much. No matter how close I came, my little angel boy was the one reason I never did anything. I love that little boy so much. He is my world. And no matter what he always knows how to put a smile on my face.

Spending time with family

If there is one thing that can make you forget about all your problems, it is spending time with people who love you the way you are. Laughing and joking, the hugs, the understand and the being together. It all helps to put things into perspective.

Cappuccino's at my favorite coffee shop

When I need to get away from it all, nothing helps more in that precise moment, than having a cappuccino at my favorite coffee shop. Friendly staff and managers that know how to make you feel at home and treat you like family. Definitely my go to place.

Reading a good book

How do you escape from reality? You read a good book. One that takes you far away from the world you live in and into a fantasy land. I've never been one to read biographies but rather romance, fantasy and young adult novels. Escaping into someone else's life, really does help. And sometimes it can even give you a bit of perspective of your own life.

My blog

I didn't realise how much I missed my blog or should I say blogging until I start this blog. Creating posts, taking images and creating an atmosphere has helped keep me sane and happy. I am definitely glad that I started blogging again.

Always remember; Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light! If you liked this post, please comment below and share what makes you happy in the darkest of times.

Hi Lovelies

Christmas is fast approaching and if like me, you have left your Christmas shopping to the last minute, you know how frustrating and daunting that can be. Going into the shops and shopping malls, is maddening and instead of buying stuff you need, you end up buying stuff you don't. Enter the shopping list.

I have a mild case of OCD and instead of buying utter nonsense this year, I have decide to create a list that I can use to help keep me on track. I created two different lists, each one showing the name of the person you are buying for, the gift you have selected, price you paid (girl has a budget) and if you have wrapped it.

Christmas List #1

A pretty elf inspired list. One block for each person. Easy and simple to use. You can download it here

Christmas Gift List #2

A more simplistic gift list, but with the same features of list 1. You can download it here

I hope these lists will help you keep track of your holiday spending and the gifts you want to buy for your loved ones this Christmas. Let me know in the comments below if you loved these downloads, and if you would love some more.

Hi lovelies

First blog post of Cappuccino with me. I shouldn't be shy to write this as it isn't my first blog. But starting something new is always a little scary.

Cappuccino with me is my second blog and definitely the blog that I will be using for years to come. I had outgrown my previous blog and have decided to start a new blog instead of re branding my old one. I wanted to start fresh, with new content and a new layout. I have to admit that I definitely didn't put this much effort into my old blog as I am with this one. I think I was finding my feet with my old one.

I chose the name Cappuccino with me, as I am totally addicted to them. I also enjoy having a cappuccino with family and friends. I want you, my readers to become my friends and consider this our weekly cappuccino date. A place to catch up, chat and embrace each other.

What can you expect from the blog? Think recipes, DIY, lots of interior design inspiration, emotional posts, information about beauty and makeup and that sort of thing. Although I did say beauty and makeup, I will not be doing reviews. Not that I don't want to, but that is what my old blog concentrated on and I don't want to go back to that. I will rather be giving beauty and makeup advice and makeup picture tutorials.

I hope you will enjoy spending time on my blog and reading the articles. If you have any ideas or comments feel free to email me or leave a comment down below.
